Christmas Card for The Hubby

I've just finished up wrapping all the gifts for our house, now to do the ones at my Mom's tomorrow night. All the time wrapping for the girls to rip through them in 10 seconds flat. :o)

I used my new Stamp Set Let It Snow by Impression Obsession. I got it fairly late, so I didn't have much time to play with it this year. I thought this one stamp out of the set was perfect for a card to my hubby. lol. That so would be us!

Recipe:

Stamps: Let it Snow
Paper: Baja breeze, Snowflake PP by?, Choc. Chip and WW
Ink: Baja breeze, choc chip
Extras: MS glue pad, irid ice ep, snowflake punches, blender pens, shimmerz, white perfect puff, ribbon, Snowflake brad, SU marker, Cuttlebug dots folder on big snowflake

It's snowing like crazy here. Definitely not the norm for us to get this much and these cold temps for this long.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas to you and yours!

CTMH SC206 Elves

My girlfriend Suzi gave me CTMH holiday paper package with part of my xmas gift this past weekend. I had bought the elves set from her friends party and she brought it down with her. Not traditional Elf colours, but I wanted to use the CTMH paper for the card and I've got to match everything of course!

I used this weeks SC over at SCS for the layout. My girls kept bugging me with wanting to do their own crafts, so I kept it simple. I'm not really liking it, but I'll send it to Suzi anyways. lol.

Recipe:

Stamps - CTMH Merry Pursuits and a word one from??
Paper - Very Vanilla and CTMH Aspen collection
Ink - Blue bayou, soft sky, baja breeze, pink pirhouette.
Accessories - snowflake punch, snowflake bards, shimmer pen, diamond stickles, blender pen, SU markers, scallop punch, corner punch, sanding paper.

I'm happy to be done all my Christmas cards and can just make something now if I feel like it, not have to!

Thanks for stopping by!

SC204 Oh Let it Snow..

But, not really though. Fun for the girls to play in, but not for driving with all of the bad drivers in the lower mainland.

I finally did a sketch challenge. I've now made 43 xmas cards. I may try to get a few more done next week, but I'm a bit tired of it all. I hope you are all done yours and are enjoying it still!

Supplies:

Stamps - Season of Joy, Impression Obsession Let it Snow
Paper - SU winter pp, Baja, real read, choc chip
Ink - Baja
Accessories - MS Glitter, MS glue, MS snowflake punch, sugar coated white brads

That's all folks!

Crisscross Christmas

Well, I made myself get into the dungeon yesterday while the girls were at Kindergarten. I wanted to make my very own crisscross card from scratch. I had to improvise on the band as I noticed after that it had to be 12". I really don't own much 12" paper, so had to use turq. pp for it. I pulled out those MS glitters again. I'm going glitter coocoo. Can't stop myself it seems!
As always, it's hard to get a good picture. The word on the little inside piece of paper says wish! I wish for a new vehicle for Christmas. hee hee. After a $500 bill today, I can dream that right.... :o)

Supplies:

Stamps - Small Script
Papers - The Paper Company - Snowflake Sentiments, SU Tempting turq. pp, cool carib., tempt. turq.
Inks - MS glue pad
Accessories - small corner rounder, MS snowflake, gem brad, MS glitters.

Happy Weekend to all!

Plum Sky Snowflake

I bought this paper at a local LSS a couple weeks ago and just love the big embossed sparkly snowflakes on it. Matches up to the perfect plum and soft sky perfectly. I made the card to the size of the snowflake. I was able to get 3 similar cards from the 12x12 and some leftover for other play. Added a couple MS snowflakes with diamond icicles all over them for a little something more. I've been really trying to keep the majority of my xmas cards simple so I can get all of them made.

Ingredients:

No stamps... must be a first for me.
Paper - Best Creations PP, soft sky, perfect plum.
Accessories - MS artic snowflake punch, diamond icicles.

Short and sweet like the time it took me to make this card!

Thanks for peaking in!

Glittery Christmas

I got the idea for multi colours of glitter on one image from stampnextra's Technique Tuesday's.
I have just gotten the MS glitter package and thought I'd try those. It turned out to be really easy to use 3 different colours. I love the look of the multi colours that was on stampnextra's tree and might have to do that tree for my next card. Since, I have no kiddies, I best get into the dungeon to create. 1 month until Christmas! Can you believe it? Enjoy your Sunday!

Recipe:

Stamps - Season of Joy
Papers - SU winter PP, Real red, baja and old olive
Inks - MS glue pad
Accessories - MS snowflake punch, Shimmerz - Angel Wingz, MS glitters - Turq., Garnet, Peridot, red ribbon.

Blue Blue Christmas

I wanted another quick and simple Christmas card and this is what came together. I'm such a lucky girl.. well I guess I'm no longer a girl, but lady just sounds to old and mature. :o) Anyways, my Mom bought me MS's 18 pack of different coloured glitter. Yippee! So, this is using the turquoise glitter on the tree and word Sparkle. I used the sakura glue pen for the glitter to adhere to.

No kids both nights this weekend, so I best get my butt into the dungeon and get creating. I want to be able to have cards made to give to my Mom to give out.

Recipe:

Stamps - Season of Joy, Warm Words
Papers - SU new winter one, Soft sky, Baja breeze, WW
Inks - Soft sky, Baja breeze
Accessories - MS turquoise glitter, Sakura glue pen, Michaels ribbon, snowflake brad, word window punch

Have a great weekend!

Jewels

I have my girls xmas party coming up soon and we do the steal a gift game. This year I had thought of making a jewellery set for the gift exchange. Luckily, my Mom's friend Pat makes jewellery, so I was able to go to her house and have all of her jewellery expertise to help assist me in my attempt at jewellery making. I knew I wanted the set to be in black and white, but I didn't have the foggiest for all the inbetween stuff. Using the board to lay it out sure helps and Pat's and my Mom's opinions helped me come up with this set here. It sure can take awhile to put one of these all together. I hope my friend who gets this appreciates the thought and time I put in to it. My first thought was to keep it for myself and go and grab something else for the exchange. hee hee.

I can not get a good picture of my cards or of this set today. I need a UTT light or something more powerful. Shop shop shop!

Happy Christmas crafting and shopping!

Crisscross Cards

I have always wanted to make one of these cards, but I don't have the patience for the intricate crafts. Well, lucky me... I had made a comment on a crisscross card on Diane Jahner gallery(djahner) and she said she would send me one. On a day when I was sick and barely off the couch, my package showed up. A crisscross card made by her and one for me to put together. It was super easy with it all being cut out and the directions for me to make them in the future. Diane's is the card on the right and mine is the one on the left she sent me, minus/plus a couple things. I made a boo boo on the center snowflake piece and had to do something else in place of it.

Thank you again Diane!
What a great RAK!

Now to get back to those Christmas cards! Talk about procrastinating.

Cupcake Christmas SC 195

I got an idea one night laying in bed to use real sprinkles on one of my cupcake stamped images. I bought the red sprinkles for a Christmasy look. Used last years SU's holiday pp for the cupcake bottom, as well as for pp on the card. Is it called Dasher? I can't recall the name!
I used sc 195 for the layout. Added some ribbon, but it is still missing something. I need to learn how to tie a bow. Just can't get them right. Is it a lefthanded thing or a me thing?
I used shimmerz - Angel Wingz all over the vanilla cardstock behind the cupcake and on the sentiment piece. Added the shimmer pen to the edges of the vanilla scallops and as little dots inside the big dots.
Ingredients:
Stamps - Hero Arts Cupcakes, Lots of Thoughts
Papers - Dasher PP?, Real red, Vanilla, Non SU green
Inks - Black, Old Olive,
Accessories - Ribbons, brads, nesties, red sprinkles, punches, shimmerz - Angel Wingz, shimmer pen.
Are you done all of your Christmas cards? I'm not even close. Yikes! Looking forward to new supplies to play with. This years SU pp is on order!
Thanks for taking the time to take a peak!
Leave me your blogs, so I can take a peak at yours!

Fairy Wishes SC199

Finally, I've finished a couple cards! I picked up this Fairy set from Michaels by Inkadinkadoo a couple of weeks ago. I've been so bored with my stamps! I thought I would do her in my fav. xmas colours of Vintage Violet and Baja Breeze. I painted platinum and turquoise stickles on the wings and used my new love.. Shimmerz - Angel Wingz all over the watercolour paper. It gives it such a nice depth and shimmer. I really need to learn how to watercolour. It didn't turn out so well. I stamped the snowburst snowflakes and added platinum and the turquoise stickles in dots onto them. I used this weeks SC over at scs for the layout.

Oh to look like this in a little dress!

Supplies:

Stamp Set - Fairy by Inkadinkadoo
Papers - Vintage Violet, Baja Breeze, Vanilla, Watercolour paper from SU
Inks - Blk stazon, VV, BB
Extra's - Gem brads, Shimmerz, Stickles, Blender pen, aquapainter, cuttlebug snowflake folder, nesties, SU markers.

Happy Halloween! My girls have been dressed in their Tinkerbell and Rosetta fairy costumes since this morning. They are dying to go. They were asking for dinner at 2:30 as they know that trick or treating is after dinner. Rain go away!!!!

Christmas Bouquet - Well Sorta

The main image started in my mind as becoming a Christmas flower arrangement. hee hee. I'd say it didn't quite come to fruition as to what I had in mind. I am so in need of new holiday stamps, that I was trying to find something to use with this great pp I picked up at a LSS on the weekend and had nothing, therefore the making of this country looking card. Do you think it looks country? Speaking of which, tomorrow I have to travel up to the sister inlaws up in the boonies or so it seems to a city slicker like me, so I best get back to packing! Thanks for following my dungeon creations.

Oh, more blah blaha... I had challenged myself NOT to use bling on this card. Hard to do, but I didn't add any stickles, gem brads, iridiscent ice etc... Once I put the 3 coloured scalloped nestie circles together, I thought of making it into a ornament. I just bought a cuttlebug folder/ dye cut that had a little ornament top piece to it. Perfect fit to give it that look!

Recipe:

Stamps - CTMH With Love, So Many Sayings and Season of Joy
Papers - Vanilla, Dark spring green, medium belguim blue by Worldwin, Kaisercraft - Cheer Christmas Wish and textured red.
Inks - Real Red, Old Olive, River Rock and Brocade Blue
Accessories - Red ribbon, nesties, punch, cuttlebug xmas dye, ribbon

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canadians! Gobble gobble!
What's your favourite part of Thanksgiving dinner? Me... the stuffing. OH ya.. by the bucket full. :o)

100% True Friends

This colour combo came to me when I went into my dungeon last night to make my Christmas cards. I didn't realize at the time, but it's close to the colour combo on scs the other week, but I added soft sky to it. The layout came as I made the pieces. I'm actually happy with a card I made! Yippee! I pulled out a set I haven't used in a long long time that Marvelous Mel gave to me. I also, used some other sets I haven't barely used. I need new stamps, but I'm having a hard time finding stuff I like out there. Saves $$ though! :o)

Recipe:

Stamps - Because of You, Make It Count, Happy Everything, Stitched BG
Papers - Kiwi kiss, Baja breeze, Vanilla, Soft sky
Inks - Baja breeze, soft sky, kiwi kiss, blk stazon
Accessories - Nesties, Cuttlebug D'vine folder, Shimmer pen, gem brads, punches, icicle stickles, SU ribbon, Aquapainter.

I guess I better start working on those darn cards! I bet I will get distracted once again! lol

Poinsettia Card

I used my first chipboards this week. I sponged them with real red reinker, versamarked all over the little one and added irid. ice, but it wouldn't dry on, so I wiped it off and it left a small amount of glitter. I outlined the bigger one with a versamark pen and added irid. ice. I don't know what I was thinking, but I messed up this card with the river rock corner piece. I wanted it right in the corner, but for some strange reason put it where I did and it was adhered too well. All the time making it to finish it with that blunder. Oh well, it's still one less card to make for this years xmas card list. I love this Anna Griffin PP. It's got such great colours in it that are traditional and elegant.

Recipe:

Stamps - Kimberly Poulson Flourishes
Papers - Real red, vanilla, river rock, Anna Griffin PP, dasher? pp.
Inks - Real red, river rock
Accessories - Pearl brads, shimmer pen, ribbon, irid. ice, versamark pad and pen.

Okay, now to my simple mass producing xmas cards I need to get done! I seem to be doing anything and everything but them!

Traditional Christmas

I thought I'd give a traditonal coloured xmas card a try! I didn't start out with it becoming a present looking card, but that is where I ended up. I added the gold bow to help make it have the present look. I think it worked!! I made another traditional card last night, but I messed up a corner piece by placing it in the wrong place. Ooops!!

Recipe:

Stamps: Tags For All. Papers: Real red, Garden green, Vanilla and Anna Griffin PP. Ink: Real red, garden green and yellow SU markers. Accessories: Gold bow, ribbon and brads.

I better get back to making my simple Christmas cards, or I'll be scrambling at the last minute. :o)

Are you working on yours?

I usually get so frustrated and just don't make them. I thought I would make one to go with my xmas cards. Maybe, put a little little lip gloss in them or ??? I'm so happy I actually made something. I made a little flap piece for my purse (hope you don't mind Mel). I'm sure it could be better. I'll have to work on it!

WSC 58 - Halloween Card

I wanted to make a Halloween card, but I really don't have a great Halloween set. I'm not overly happy with this card. If you want to see fantastic unreal Halloween creations visit Mels blog. What talent! I bought the patterned paper at a Scrapbook store for I think 25 cents a sheet. I used the new tangerine orange from SU. I used the cuttlebug circle folder on the small black strip to kind of go with the circles on the pp. I sponged blk, orange and green galore over the white area around the cat. It seemed to bright being all white. Added a black gem. I did faux stitching between the two different pp's. Inside says: a haunting halloween.

Recipe:

Stamps - Haunting Halloween
Papers - Tangerine Tango?, Blk, Green Galore, Halloween PP, WW, Orhid opulence
Inks - Blk, Green Galore, Pumpkin
Accessories - Punches, blk ribbon, blk gem, paper piercing, SU markers, Cuttlebug circle folder,

Sc194 Baja Grey Bella

I got this gal in a Bella swap I did awhile back! What a great way to get a variety of Bella's without having to buy them all! I love this new SU baja breeze blue. It's fab! I saw a card on scs that a lady made using it and grey. I've added a link to her card below as it wouldn't fit up here! You've got to check it out! It's ultra fab! I need colouring lessons! I am envious of people's abilities I see on scs.

Recipe:

Stamps - Bday Bella (not sure of exact name)
Papers - Baja, Basic Grey, American Craft - Elegant Gown, WW
Inks - Baja, Going Grey, Blk
Accessories - Aquapainter, blender pen, SU ribbon, blk gems, shimmer pen on shoes and other little places, glaze pen on balloons to make them shine, pencil crayons, SU marker, cuttlebug Bday and weathered folders. Kels Baby Girl Card

My best friend since grade 6.. over 20 yrs is expecting a baby girl in Oct. I went the lazy way and used a sticker of a pram stroller I've had for years. I used the new S.U. pink (can't remember the last part of the name). added some barely banana and some baby coloured pp that I've had for years and years. I stamped It's a Girl all over the pink cardstock, scallop punched the edge and added some white gel pen dots to the scallops and some faux stitches.

I've just designed her Baby shower card too! It's really simple as I need to make 13 of them fairly quickly!

I also had a blue pram that I made into a baby boy card for my girlfriend who just had a baby boy yesterday1

Thanks for stopping by!

My Christmas Cards

Okay, I think I've got my 2 xmas cards decided. For the most part, I'm going to make the snowmen one as it's really quick and with having to make over 40... I need quick. I just lvoe the Vintage Violet with the Baja Breeze. I wish they'd bring popular in colours from the past back! Smart on S.U's part I say!

Recipe:

Stamps - Season of Joy, So Many Scallops, Tags for All, Snowburst Snowflakes
Paper - Baja, Vintage Violet, WW
Ink - Baja, VV
Accessories - Glimmer and glaze pens, snowflake cuttlebug folder, nesties, punches, silver brads, gem sticker, blender pen, Lily White Flock, Icicle Stickles, Orange pencil crayon

I'm sure I'll end up making others too for really close friends and family as I always seem to.

Happy Cardmaking!

Simple Christmas Card

I wanted to keep my xmas cards simple this year, but is this too simple? I love the new Baja and thought the Snowburst set borrowed from my so damn talented friend Mel would go perfect with it. I also then remembered I had bought the Snowflake cuttlebug folder long ago and thought it would work well with the Baja Breeze.
I used a blender pen to colour in the snowmen's hats, scarves and added a bit to their bodies. I put icicle stickles then lily white flock ontop to make it look like snow beneath the snowmen. Sponged in a little baja over the whole image and coloured in the frame too. I put glaze pen over the hats and scarves to give them some dimension and then a little shimmer pen for some sparkle.
The other xmas card I made first last night that I felt had so much potential did not turn out how I would hope. I need to tweak it to make it work!
I actually got 3 cards made last night. I haven't been in the dungeon for a long time. I've got another baby card to get done too this week. I'm cheating with using big carriage stickers on them.
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you have found some time to get into your stamp room and unwind!

Mom's Bday Card, SC 189 & CC 179

My Mom's Bday is at the end of August and we are away for two weeks and come back on her Bday, so I had tonight only to get it done. I used this weeks sc for the layout and my newest stamp sets. Stampendous - Posie Doodle I picked up this past weekend down in the states and Little Paper Shops- Still Hot Granny! Poor Mom is having the hotflashes like crazy. We always blame everything on the H.F. (hotflash), so I just had to have the saying from the Granny set.It took way to long to get it done. Between kids coming in and out and getting ready for bedtime and the phone ringing. It's done!!!

Recipe:

Stamps - Stampendous - Posie Doodle, Little Paper Shop - Still Hot Granny and SU Linen BG
Papers - Eggplant, Green Galore (I didn't have Olive), Teal and Gesso paper made by Mel. Great stuff to colour on.
Inks - Eggplant, Grn galore, Teal, Blk stazon
Accessories - Nesties, Paisley cuttlebug, SU ribbons, Turq. Purple and Green gem brads, aquapainter, small corner rounder

Enjoy these last few weeks of summer! I'm off on two weeks of vacation and then back from my babies to start Kindergarten. Boo hoo.. yeah.. I'll cry behind my sunglasses. ;o)

Thanks for stopping by!

SC188 Hula Penguin Girl

I just realized I had forgotten to post this last card on my blog. I used my newest paper and stamp that I purchased from The Paperworks Co. I have only ever done a couple purchases online and this company is one of them. I've had great service from this co. and they have great prices. I kept it really simple on this one! I'd love to get a card made for this weeks cc., but with going away for 2 weeks this Sat. I doubt I'll find the time! Happy last couple weeks of summer everyone!
Recipe:
Papers - Basic Grey Euphoria Bless paper, Orchid Opulence, Celery, Cool carib, PiP and WW
Inks - Black stazon, Cool carib, creamy caramel
Other stuff - Turquoise stickles on bikini top, aquapainted the bikini top first. Masked the penguin to make the water, sand and sponged some carib for the sky. Added a couple paper flowers and a purple gem brad for the flower in her hair. Then I added some paperpiercing.

CC173 & SC186

I finally got around to CC173. It's hard to do a cc when you don't have the ink, but I finally made myself do it. I am happy to be out of my colour box. I've been doing the same colours too much lately. This is a bright and vibrant colour combo. Oops.. I thought I had fixed the pink brad to be aligned with the other two. I guess I'll have to fiddle again with it.

Recipe:

Paper - Pomegranate, Wasabi, Celery PP, Berry Bliss PP
Ink - Pomegrante and Certain Celery
Stamps - CTMH With Love stamp set.. surprise. I'm using it non stop right now.
Accessories - Gem brads, ribbon, dimensionals, clear ep, cuttlebug folder.

Wishing everyone a great long weekend and great weather for it!

Cased from xeyedlyza

I cased a card from xeyedlyza on scs. I just loved her card and asked her what company CTMH was and she messaged me that is was Close To My Heart. Now, I have this set myself!!! My great friend Mel bought me for my Birthday! How lucky am I!

I used the cc#176 and added choc. chip. I aquapainted the flowers with sky reinker and also coloured in part of the vase with the blue. I did the bg on the vanilla in different shades of the choc chip and sky and then coloured in some of the dark choc chip ones in the river rock. Added a ribbon to the vase, stuck on the flowers with dimensionals and that is that!

CTMH With Love

I really like this past weeks colour challenge and sketch challenge. So, I thought I would combine them. I took so many pictures of this card and could not get a decent one. The iridescent ice looks mushed instead of sparkly. I've never really stamped these type of images before and I know why.. I'm not good at it. It's different though. I'm tired of my same ol' same ol'.
Recipe:
CTMH With Love stamp set that I got for my Bday from my so generous rockin friend Mel and S.U. Stitched BG. Sky, River rock and Vanilla paper. Sky, River and White craft inks. Blender pen to colour the sky onto the stamp. Why the hell SU didn't make the incolours matching markers is beyond me. I'm hoping they made matching markers for this next set of incolours. I've got the CTMH markers that match coming. SU is losing out on sales. Ok, done my little rant. Iridescent ice on the little sky flowers, ribbon, small corner punch for scallops and used a cuttlebug folder (forget the name) with white chalk rubbed across it. I had high hopes for this card, but it just didn't come together as imagined. Next time as I always say to myself!
It's cold and rainy here today, so instead of cleaning...I'm off to attempt another card. Now, just to keep the girls entertained.
I hope you are out somewhere enjoying a hot day!

FS74 Dare To Be Fabulous

This is the card I came up with from this weeks FS74 Teneale. I changed the sage shadow to pretty in pink, added some pink bling and did iridescent ice on the pink part of the flower and on the baroque swirl.
What a great card for inspiration and to pull me out of a rut!
I borrowed Mels Fabulous Friends stamp set a couple weeks ago and wasn't coming up with anything I liked. Teneale's layout and 3 layer flower was perfect!
Recipe:
PiP paper and ink, Choc. chip paper and ink.
Fabulous Flowers and Baroque Motif stamp sets.
Pink square blingbling, versamark pen and iridescent ice.
Big brad and 3 ribbons.
I dare you... to be fabulous! I know I have days I could use a bit more!!! :o)

SC183 Seize The Cupcake

I need a stamp that says "Seize the Ice Cream Cone" lately. I just love having them on hot days. Not good for the waistline though!
I had such a hard time with this card. I really wanted to destress in my dungeon, but the creativity was stagnant. I finally gave up after coming back to it during commercial breaks of The Deadliest Catch. Those men are crazy!

Last week's sketch challenge on scs was this layout. I can't seem to get away from these colours. Maybe, the new in colours will pull me away for awhile. We'll have to see how they look in real life.

Recipe: Too simple to really list. Hero Arts cupcake stamps, cuttlebug bday embossing folder, some SU ribbons, linen BG stamp, couple brown brads, blender pens to colour in cupcake and nesties. I could use a moist chocolate cupcake right now. I'm insomnicating and having monthly cravings. GGGrrrrr.... and of course tomorrow will be the day the girls are up the earliest of the week. It goes without saying, I swear!

I hope you all are tucked snugly in bed, dreaming of your next card. :o)

Popsicle Cards

I saw these today on scs by lilorangemouse. What a simple and cute idea! I like simple.. my brain can handle that. So, I thought I'd give it a go. I didn't have any cute fruit stamps, so I improvised best I could. I also made a cherry one, but it didn't turn out so well. :o( These would be so cute for a little kids summer Bday party for invites don't ya think? Added some coloured thread to the stick for some colour. Nice when stuff matches! Stole some of the girls popsicle sticks. hee hee... good thing they had some of the hundreds I bought them left.

Recipe:

Papers: Lovely lilac, Green galore and Pumpkin Pie
Ink: LL, GG, PP, Versamark
Stamps: So Many Scallops, In The Spotlight, Hero Arts Cupcakes
Accessories: SU scallop punch, Nesties scallop, Making Memories thread, irid. ice

The girls and I are going to make these tomorrow. They were so excited to see these, but I didn't want them writing all over these. They can stamp and write all over theirs!

Thanks for stopping by! What is your favourite flavour for a popsicle? I love root beer, lime or grape.

Hero Arts is My Hero

Yippee... I spoiled myself today with my first acrylic stamp set. I had seen it in my LSS last week and was in the area again today and I just had to stop and get it. I also picked up some pp and brads to play with.
I made my own bg with 3 of the stamps from this Hero Arts Cupcake stamp set. How cool is that! The pp is Karen Foster Birthday Celebration. I keep using the same colours, so I picked paper that had colour and it was fun matching the colours in the pp to S.U. Added some microbeads to the top of the cupcake with a cherry on top. Both images were stamped with blk craft ink and clear embossed. The ribbon was bought stamped with Happy Birthday on it. I also added a couple of my new brads. Pulled out the S.U. markers for the cupcake colouring.
I can't wait to play some more! Something different then flowers..finally!
Forgot to add... layout is from Lizzie Anne Designs. Great layout!

SC182 True Friend

I thought I would use my nest square nesties to make the squares for this weeks sketch challenge. I had the soft sky already stamped with one of the boho bg's, so I thought I'd use it for the squares. I added some shimmer to the middle of the flowers and on the big True friend flower stamp to add some sparkle. I used my metallic rub ons from way back in my ceramic days to add some colour to the WW cardstock. Then I added a couple corner pieces.
I kept it simple without alot of accessories. It was a fun card to make. Took some measuring to try and get the squares somewhat lined up and straight.
Happy Friday! I'm packing up to go play at Melissa's with all my new nesties. Hours with no kids and a great friend! How lucky am I to start my weekend like this!

First Card With Nesties

WOO HOO! A scrapbook store out in Langley had a 40% off any line coupon this week and I was thinking of going. Well, then a email came through about them having nesties back in stock. So, I thought... hey I could use the 40% off for the nesties line. Worked out to be $18.00 ea. Better then any price I had found online and minus the $10 - $20 in shpg that would have been added on as well. My enabler Melissa
talked me into buying too many of them. It's all her fault I say. I got the Lg petite scallop circles, lg circles, scalloped ovals, lg ovals, Lg square scallops and the long classic scallop rectangle lg ones. Melissa said I could pick out 3 for my Birthday coming up in July. She's too kind! I can't let her buy me that much stuff. I'll have to tell my Dad that I'd like cash for my Birthday and put it to all of these. Good thing the carbon tax dividend cheques came on the same day. Gee, thanks government for that.. it costs us that a month more in gas... x 12 month. I finally pulled out my stamp a ma jig to get the True friend stamp centered in the smaller scallop. I had to do it a few times to get it close. I folded a piece of chocolate chip paper in half and had two scallops showing when putting through the cuttlebug to keep the cardstock attached to make it into a card that opens up. I then put a smaller soft sky scalloped circle inside to write on. Added some versamark pen to the stamped image and then dipped it into irridescent ice and embossed. Melissa gave me the ribbon. Matches perfectly with the soft sky. I hope I love the new blues as much as the last.
I have blabbed on too long. Have a great weekend! I'll be having fun fun fun at Melissa's tomorrow night playing with our new nesties. I can't wait to see what she comes up with!

Huggybella One of a Kind

I'm in the Bella mood. I did a Bella swap with scrappin beth a couple months ago. This is one of the Bella's she sent me. I pulled out the Sandy Lion - One of a Kind patterned paper to pull the colour inspiration from. I cuttlebugged the pp with the the spots and dots folder that my dear talented enabler Melissa lent me.

Recipe:

Stamps - Huggybella, One of a Kind

Paper - Chocolate chip, PiP, Cranberry crisp, WW and Sandy Lions - One of a Kind pp.

Ink - Cranberry crisp, blender pens with PiP, Cocoa, Choc. chip, SU Markers

Accessories - SU ribbon, small corner punch, white gem brad, handcut flowers as my punch had to be sent back due to not cutting the flowers nicely. Of course now that it's gone I've wanted to use it a few times!!!

I've had fun using pp for inspiration the last couple days. For some reason, I'm in the mood to make xmas cards... weird or what?! Can't ever be too early to start making 60 cards now can we?!

I want more patterned paper. I'll have to maybe hit the LSS for some new beautiful Basic Greys. I can justify it with it being my Bday in a month right? I'll use that excuse to order Nesties too and to order cuttlebug folders and and and. A girls got to do what a girls got to do to keep her happy. If Mama ain't happy.. no one is happy! So true! ;o)

Have yourself a great weekend. I think we're taking the girls to Kung FU Panda if it isn't nice out tomorrow.

Oops, I just noticed I forgot to put the stickle in the curly girls flower in her hair. Off to do that!

Cheers!

Latte Bella

My latest Bella stamp is the new latte bella. I miss going for Starbucks with my girlfriend who moved away to Kamloops a few months ago! So, I've made this to send her with a Starbucks gift card. I used choc chip, close to cocoa, a pink pp and a brown and pink pp that I can't recall the name of. I stamped the coffee beans from the Espress Yourself set onto the cocoa scalloped circle and on the inside of the card for a frame. I used the d'vine swirl on the cocoa and then sponged on some chocolate chip to the raised areas. I did little shimmery doodles on the pink pp flower and on the pink pp bg piece of paper. I used my blender pens for the colouring of the Bella. I find they give a softer look. I used the brown craft ink and used clear ep to emboss it. The card is 5 1/4" x 5 1/4". I better find a huge envie for it. Thanks for stopping by for a look. I need to get back into my dungeon to make something new. I guess I'll wait to see what this weeks colour challenge will be to help me get creative.

Amy's Baby Girl Welcome Card

My stepdad's first born niece is due to have her first baby in about a week. He was hoping for a boy, as he's got 5 sisters and 2 grandgirls. Girls rule! The more the better I say! I picked up a 3 pack of onesies in the states at Target. They have great baby items for good prices. I got her a couple other little things too. I used PiP and Vanilla to make this card. Also, a pink and vanilla pp from Melissa Frances called Grace. I used the So Many Scallops stamp set for the image. I also added some SU ribbons and a scalloped piece of pink paper to the bottom. Some corner pieces and pearl brads to the top of the card. S.U. would be smart to bring out a size bigger of a scallop punch to coordinate with their smaller one. I'm hoping for their next catty to wow me. Have a great Friday! I'm enjoying a cinnamon dolce latte and a kid free house... not for much longer though.

8th Wedding/ 10 yrs Together Anniversaries Today!

My husband came home at lunch time with this beautiful bouquet and the homemade ice cream cone craft that he and our girls did together last night. Brad did a great job on the cone and the girls did a great job on the ice cream with sprinkles and chocolate they told me. I think Brad could do some good in the craft room. Wow! We were suppose to go out for ice cream 10 yrs ago and ended up doing something else instead. wink wink. So, it's been an ever running joke about me wanting my ice cream cone. He filled it with printouts of different ice cream places for me to pick from. We are going to the Marble Slab Creamery tonight. Yum! Oink! The picture doesn't do the flowers one bit of good. They are gorgeous in real life.
I hope you all are having as good of a day as I am. He will get his present later tonight, but I won't be posting a picture of me in it. haha.

So Sweet of You CC169 & SC179

I loved this weeks cc and sc. I thought I would pull out my So Many Scallops set to give it some use. Now, it seems I'm using it for every card. This weeks colours are Soft sky, Blue bayou, Real red, sky and bayou pp's. I also used the Kind Thoughts stamp set. Scallop punches. I need to get some more sizes and I'd love to see S.U. come out with one a bit bigger then the one they already have...wouldn't that be smart of them!! Added some shimmery pen to the butterflies and on the scalloped edge paper. A brad to finish off the scallop pieces. I've really been in the card making mood lately. I guess it helps when my parents have had the twins for the weekend. Now, to get all my housework done that I have neglected. argggh! Have a great Sunday!

8th Wedding Anniversary Card

I guess it's a bit strange of a card to make for an Ann. card! I just wanted to do something different and we did get married on Secret Beach in Maui... so I thought a beach theme would work. I think that was my second time using this set. I had bought it planning to use for scrapbooking beach pics of my girls, but I never really did get into scrapbooking. I much prefer card making. I loved this weeks colour challenge. I'm really gonna miss these blues. Sets I used are The Shore Thing, Happy Everything and So Many Thoughts (on the inside it says forever and always). Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Real Red are this weeks CC 169 on SCS. I used my C.M. wave template thingy to make waves. . Stamped the chair and them restamped on a post it not to put over the top of it and then stamped all the sand around it. Added a bucket, a starfish, birds and the sun (colouring over the so saffron with a glaze pen to give it a nice shine). We are going back to Maui for our 10 yr Ann. 2 more years to wait. Out for dinner tonight to The Keg to celebrate. Went to The Kingfisher Spa on Vancouver Island for our 10 yr Ann. of being together 2 weekends ago. Life is good!!!

Mothers Day Card

Again this is cased from strappystamper. I love the cocoa and soft sky together. I had to do a bit of modifying as I didn't have the right size cirle punches. I made a little scalloped bottom piece and stamped it with the little flowers. I used a blender pen to colour in the image from Kind Thoughts. I traced inside of the stamping on the soft sky in a white gel pen to give it some depth and contrast. I used my first piece of cuttlebug paper in the cocoa. Now, the name is escaping me at the moment on the name of the folder, but it's one of my fabs. I don't even own one yet, but have bought 2 and have lent them to my dear creative and talented friend http://melstampz.blogspot.com/. I really enjoyed working with these colours and this layout. This is a nice elegant set to use for really special cards. Have a great day! The sun is shining and the girls are in school today, so it'll be great for me. :o)

Debbie's 50th Bday Card

I saw this beautiful card made by strappystamper and I just had to case it. I love the layout and the colours. I had borrowed the Kind Thoughts stamp set from a great friend http://melstampz.blogspot.com/ and didn't know what to do with it. I found all I needed for inspiration on scs. I used purely pom, soft sky and blk. I'm sad that S.U. is once again getting rid of the in colours. It would be great if they would keep a few of each and bring them into the new catty's. I better stock up in June! The biggest piece of soft sky is the patterned paper. I was all out of linen purely pom, so had to replace with just the regular paper. I really enjoyed copying strappystampers card and after I had made another card that I'll post next, I realized this was one of her creations too! If she hasn't already been a featured stamper on the scs weekly newsletter, I definitely think she should be! Thanks for stopping by! I know I don't update this enough. Cheers!

Hpnotiq Tini

My latest card. I was having my usual insomnia last week and started thinking of what I could throw together for my next card. I wanted some bright colours as it was so grey out last week here. I haven't used my Bella's a lot, so I wanted to use one of them. Came up with a layout and added some accessories. I used Green Galore, Cool carib and Tempt. turq for my colours. Made Cosmobella's capri's out of TT pp. I pulled out my blender pen and coloured a white prima in the green galore. I had the blue flower and it matches perfect to the cool carib. Thanks for stopping by my blog for a peak. I haven't been updating it as much lately. I've been lacking creativity. I'm hoping my trip to Disneyland will give my brain a chance to recharge.

Baby Girl Welcome Card

The latest baby in our group arrived two weeks ago... a little girl. Well hardly little at 8lbs 15oz. ;o) Hard to believe one baby is close to the weight of my twin girls when they were born. I haven't made a baby card for awhile and all my sets are so outdated. I then realized I had the new So Many Scallops and thought I'd try it out. I saw some really nice ones on scs with this stamp on them. I used pretty in pink, barely banana and whisper white for ink and paper. Added a couple yellow gem brads, some SU ribbons, scallops, and corner pieces. I stamped on the pink bg cardstock and the white cs with my newest stamp.. stitched bg and used the little dots from Delight in Life on the last layer of pink cs and the banana cs as well as on the little corner pieces. I then used a white gel pen to add a little colour in the middle of the dots. I stamped the main image with white craft ink and then used white ep. I enjoyed making this card tonight. Sometimes, cardmaking is so therapeutic!

Doodle This CC 159

I haven't posted on here in a long time. I loved this colour challenge combo, so I had to make a couple cards with the colours. Here is my first one. I used the Doodle this set that I had used for along time. Stamped in blk stazon and used my new aquapainter for the first time. I need to get use to the flow of it, but love the way it works. Stamped the bg in white craft ink and embossed in clear ep. Added some stickles, couple gem brads, ribbon and attemped to do the dots that I see everyone doing. I can't wait to use my new stitched bg in white for a bg on going grey cardstock. Colours are Going Grey, Soft sky and whisper white.

CC 155 and SC 164

I usually never do the challenges on scs and if I do I'm usually way behind, like on these ones. I made this while my girls were in school today and after as I had messed up the card part and had to redo. I had higher hopes for it's turnout. I saw the River Rock, Blk and WW colour challenge and liked the looks of these colours together. It can have a antique feeling to it if done in a proper manner. I pulled out the Baroque Motif set that I haven't used in awhile and went to work. The flowers are all embossed as well as on the little white strip of paper. I rarely ever make a white card. I really had wanted this one to be, so I made myself do it! Thank gosh, I get to go to stamp club get together this Wed. I really need inspiration from my great artist SU demo bestest friend. Thanks for stopping by for a looky lew!

Wow... The Worlds Most Crooked Card

This is so embarassing, I had to put it on here. After all the work, I do and use the little circles on the light brown paper to line up my other layers and wow...obviously that was a crooked cut. How frustrated am I!!! I am so anal, that I can spot this drunken looking mess from across the room where I see it. I'll save this card to give to a friend when she's already drunk... so she can't tell. ;o) I finally got around to using the berry bliss paper. I will have to try this again. This time I will count on my eyes for visual lining.. not a cut piece of paper!!!! Hey Mel... you're Bday is soon. Have a couple drinks before you open this piece of work up! I thought the layout I came up with while bored watching the grammy's wasn't too bad. I know it's been used before and not a original, but it all came to me quickly while sitting there. Brad Paisley came on and that was my cue to go into the dungeon. Sorry to any that are a fan! He could probably make a straighter card. Done babbling... for now! Off to listen to my husband snore. Elbow is locked and loaded!
