Snowbunny Bella Birthday Babe!

I've been happily down in my dungeon a few times this week stamping away. A girlfriend of mine's Bday is at the end of this month. She loves to go up snowboarding and I thought of her love of wearing soft pink to make this card. I used pretty in pink and soft sky paper. I stamped in versamark all the snowflakes from the snowflake spot all over the pink to make a bg and then used clear ep. I also stamped the snow looking stamp over the soft sky. I masked the snowbunny bella and sponged on soft sky all over the white paper. I then stamped some of the snow and snowflakes with versamark and then used iridiscent ice ep. I painted in her pink coat and boots and used pink stickles on her furry cuffs and pompoms. Added a bit of ribbons that matched, couple punches and a gem brad to give it a bit of something. This was a quick and fun card to make. It was nice to use soft colours again. It's been along time it seems. Thanks for taking a peak!

Friendship Blooms Together

Melissa http://melstampz.blogspot.com/ and I got together yesterday in my dungeon to stamp stamp stamp. Actually, we did rub ons for the first time. The ones from the upcoming SAB promotion. We used the brown ones. I took her out of her usual colour scheme to one that I love to do. All the layering is her design. We used a basic grey line that I can't recall, but the paper itself is angelic. We stamped the sanded bg stamp 3 times in different colours - close to cocoa, pretty in pink and regal rose. I stamped the flowers with versamark and choc chip as I don't have the craft ink and then Melissa painted some regal rose onto the pretty in pink flowers, added some stickles, a rub on in the middle and a brad ontop of that. Melissa used a glitter gel roll pen on the middle of the little flowers that I stamped from the Time Well Spent set for our bg. I think we work really well together, bringing both of our different styles together. Melissa was dying to distress on the card as she is the distressing queen, so she just did the outside edge of the card. I know it was killing her not to do it all. Hee hee. Thanks for stopping by!

My Girls Valentine Cards

I thought I wouldn't wait until the last minute to make my 4 yr old twingirls their Vday cards. Lauren loves pink and Jordan loves purple. They turn 5 in February, so I'll have to get back to my dungeon to make their Bday cards. They love doing arts and crafts, so I've stamped the hearts from Time Well Spent for them to colour and add to their Vday cards. I used pink passion, pixie pink, Lavendar lace and almost amethyst. I used the soft swirls background stamp and then used a white gel pen on the inside of the hearts. I was looking for something to use for a Vday greeting and I was on the phone with my stampin buddy Melissa, when she was talking about a women who had cut up stamps and I then thought of the So Many Sayings set. I choose not to cut it up and thought I'd try stamping the whole image and then embossed it in white ep. I think it turned out okay! I got the girls pink and purple little gorilla's down in the states last week to go in little metal buckets for the gifts. Of course... I will have to load up the bottoms with some treats. :o) Thanks for stopping by!

Time Well Spent Friend

I have finally made a new card. Almost after a month of no cardmaking. I borrowed my friend Mels new set to have something new to play with. The colour is lavendar lace, but somehow is looking blue.. even my 4 year old pointed it out. Too much flash I guess. The other colour is Mellow Moss. Added some white gel pen, purple and green ribbons, hodgepodge, linen bg, punches, and SU markers. I need to get reinspired. Mel is coming over to play on Sat. I got a cuttlebug for xmas, but opened it last night to find out it's been used. What is wrong with people to return something they've used? I'll have to get to Walmart before Sat. to get a new one, so we can set it up and play with it. She always inspires to me try new things. I can't wait for the first stamp club get together! TFL!

Tag I Guess I'm It!

I got tagged my Melstampz, but didn't receive any info on what it was about. I was just on her blog. http://melstampz.blogspot.com/ and saw what it's about. I have not updated this in so long. I have needed a huge break from stamping. I know, some of you must have gasped.. how could she. After making about 60 xmas cards I was done with any creativity. Though I'm looking forward to getting down to my dungeon, cleaning it up and getting started once again.
So, here goes 7 random/ weird things about me!

1) Hmm... I am overly analy organized and plan way too far ahead for events. I have to have stuff done, or it eats at me. I can't leave stuff until the last minute. I don't feel it's a good of quality or thought out as much for someone.

2) I love watching the PPT or WPT. (poker shows). It's helped my game. I was the last girl on New Years Eve with 3 other guys and went home with more money then I had started with. :o)

3) I love playing floor hockey. I'm jonesin for it to start up again next Tues. Get this Xmas lbs off the old gut and butt. It's the best work out.

4) I love going down to Bellingham (Bellis Fair Mall) to shop... got to get my Target fix. Speaking of which, I go tomorrow night. My friends and I always have a blast. Got to love when you hit the big scores of deals.

5) I both enjoy and shake my head at staying home with my almost 5 yr old twin girls. Sometimes I think it's the hardest job (you can atleast have a pee at your workplace in private - no kids hanging around asking a million questions and playing with the t.p. dispenser.) Sometimes I think it's the best job, especially at this age. A built in playmate to entertain each other while Mommy cleans, cooks or sometimes crafts. I've been extremely lucky to be able to be home with the girls. I couldn't imagine having anyone else look after them. I'm too anal to let someone else. Hey.. not saying someone else couldn't do better with crafts, stories, play, but no one can fiercely love them like I do!

6) Gosh, I was thinking for a second it was only 5 I needed. Hmm... I am married to my best friend, best husband and greatest dad I could have for my girls. I am truly fortunate for the man in my life. Coming up to 10 years together this spring. I think we will treat ourselves to The Kingfisher Spa on Vancouver Island for a couple days.

7) I like watching design shows/ home shows. House Hunters, Hidden Potential - althought what Barry the designer picks for decor is horrible, I like the idea behind it. Flip This House, Property Ladder to name a few. We are just starting to look at renovating our kitchen and I'm both excited and nervous. It's a big and expensive project to tackle.

Well, that's my 7 picks of random and weird. I don't have anyone to tag in the blog world. If you read this, I'd love for you to do it and comment on here that you have and I can meet you and read yours.

Cheers and Happy New Year to all!

Kim
