Paper - Night of Navy, Neenah White, Reminisce Frosted Window, Bordering Blue and a sparkly charcoal.
Ink - Black craft ink with clear ep

I hope your Christmas crafting is going well and almost done! I have a few more to make for my Mom to give to her girlfriends!

R.I.P.

A lady at my Mom's work who buys cards needed a boy Halloween card as she already had one from me for a girl. I'm not good on the boy/ masculine cardmaking. I don't really have stamps and such for them. I started digging and thought the Reminscence Rest In Peace PP would be perfect. I cut out one of the tombstones as the main image, added some cuttlebug embossed grey paper for the ground and then painted the swirls with grey ink. Used the SU Sanded BG stamp for some colour, texture on the back grey panel and put in a piece of the RIP pp behind it. I had picked up some bat ribbon that is perfect for cutting little bats from. Way less work then the stamping and handcutting of the ones I did on my Jenna Witch card.

And there ya have it!
Happy Trick Or Treating to all you ghouls!

Witching You... a Haunting Halloween

Marvelous Mel spoiled me again with a little package of digi images printed out and some stamped ones. I used Jenna the Witch from LPS for this Halloweenie card. I picked up some lovely blue and blk halloween paper that I saw Mel had in her pile and I just had to copy. I told myself I wasn't going to buy anymore paper... ya well.. I'm a big fat liar. I bought lots. hee hee.
It's just so nice to have new things to motivate you once again. I paper pieced Jenna's dress in the matching PP. Painted in the grey sky, stamped and cut out a couple bat buddies, threw on the cool ribbon Mel and I got and should have gotten more of. It has wire in it. Too fun! Added part of the sentiment from SU Haunting Halloween stamp set and the other half is inside.. saying a Haunting Halloween. :o) The blk paper is a soft dusty black colour that was perfect for the faded blk on the pp, comparted to the normal blk.

I had fun making a card. It's been so long since I've made one. With just having gall bladder surgery, I'm here stuck on the couch with nothing to do, but wasn't able to sit comfortably to craft. I did sneak in some copic colouring while on the couch. I make a bad patient.

Thanks for having a look!

Have a Happy Halloween!

My Newest Miss Anya Christmas Cards... AND I won at TGF!! Woot woot!

I turned on the computer to download pics. of my most recent Miss Anya Christmas cards to put onto my blog and what a pleasant surprise in my inbox.... an email from The Greeting Farm with the voting for the Sprouts contest and little ol me as the winner of todays question. That sure made my night. I think my hubbie thinks I'm even nuttier after I got so exited by it. I don't own my own Anya yet and I had just used up my last Miss Anya image from my dear friend Mel. I have a wish list of Anya's, and I am dying for more Miss Anya's to be created. So, I get to pick one to be mine!! Woot woot! Ok, now on to the boring bits... or atleast it seems that way after that excitement.

The above picture shows 2 of the 3 cards that I have been working on for the last couple days. I used Cindy Haffner's layout from the TGF blog for one of them and the other layout is from the Caardvarks sketch challenge.

I used a great pp that I picked up at my LSS that was closing down. I wish I grabbed more then one sheet. It's by Carol Wilson Fine Arts - SCP138D. It has all sorts of great xmas sentiments. I loved it had purple with the green and red. I love non traditional xmas colours.

Details:
Stamps - Miss Anya - Warmy Winter Girl, Recollections Winter Wishes for the sentiment
Papers - Carol Wilson PP, Elegant eggplant, Real red, 2 S.U. greens, purple Bazzill and my fav copic stamping paper... Neenah White.
Inks - SU craft blk and Copic markers
Accessories - Gem Brads, Basic Grey brads, crystal gems, ribbons, Cuttlebug folder - Snowflakes, snowflake stamp and clear ep.

Thanks for having stopped by! I can't wait to share my new TGF stamp when I get it. Now what one to choose. :o)

Happy stamping!

Changito Cup o Cocoa

Love these little Changito's. I found this one at a LSS closing out sale. I thought he'd be cute for holiday cards. I used the new Bermuda Bay with Pink Pirouhette and another non SU paper that was close to Berm. Bay. Added some pink shimmerz to the Snowflake Cuttlebug embossed pink pirouhette panel of paper. I used copics to colour in the image, added a snowflake with a swarovski crystal that matched the Berm. Bay perfectly. Also, added some matching Bermuda Bay ribbon. It's the only in-colour I bought this year. Like I need anymore paper or pp's. I am trying to challenge myself to use only paper I have on hand for my xmas cards. Can she do it????

I hope you are all busy getting started on your Holiday creations. Fall's first day yesterday. We've been so lucky in Vancouver to be having incredibly hot days. It's amazing! Less time for the grey blues that comes with all the rain and grey sky.

Cheers!

I Wanna Be Just Like...

Club Anya - I Wanna Be Just Like Contest

This is the card I submitted for a contest over on Club Anya. I just love colouring Anya images. They so need to come out in digital! I've used this pp 3 times now and can't recall the name of it. I love this beachy Anya. My other fav's are the one with the purse and the one in winter boots and handwarmer. Lucky for me my girlfriend Mel shared her images with me. I think it's time I bought myself a few of my own. The flipflop brads are also from Mel from a few yrs ago and thought they'd be perfect with this Anya image on a card. Copic coloured the purple flower to match better and the green one matched perfectly on it's own. I really need to start creating outside the box though... all Anya and all similar layouts/ card size. The sentiment is a stampendous one that I found to go well with this image too.
I finally cleaned out my dungeon. Took hrs and it actually almost looks like a place where you can go and create and relax. It feels good to walk into!
Schools back in and I hope to find time now to make more cards to sell!
Happy back to school to all the parents out there! Singing... It's the most wonderful time of the year.
Well enough of my boring blah!
Cheers,
Kim

A Huge Thanks

I am a VERY lucky girl! At the beginning of August, my Mom and I went across the line to do some back to school shopping at the Chelsea Outlet Mall in Marysville, WA. The girls got loads of great clothes, shoes and great priced school supplies AND I got my first Coach purse and my Mommy bought it for me . Oh my god, it's beautiful! And it's not the type of Coach purse that had shelves of them either. heehee. It was regular $409.00 and got it for $160.00. Wicked deals that day. My Mom had a lady following her around hoping she put down her purse and a lady in line was saying "I want yours" to me. Too funny! So, maybe sounds petty all that over a purse, but when your a purse girl... it's a big deal. :o)

Anywho, marvelous Mel had stamped me some Miss Anya images for my Bday pkg and I had already coloured this image, so how perfect to put on a card for my thank you card to my Mom.
The inside says: "A girl can never have... too many fabulous handbags, too many stylish shoes, or too many incredible friends", from Purple Onion Designs. Talk about the best saying ever and so fitting for my great marathon weekend of shopping.

I've gotten new Copics for my Bday and bought myself some new ones. So much more fun when ya actually own more then 12. I really enjoy colouring the Anya's with Copics. I think I need me some of these gals.

Ingredients:

Stamps - Greeting Farms - Miss Anya Collection, Purple Onion sentiment, So Many Scallops
Papers - Rose red, Bo Bunny Back to Basics, Soft sky and Neenah
Accessories - Copics, clear EP, Cuttlebug Argyle Folder, gem, scallop circle punch

Thanks for reading my blah blah blah about a purse. ;o)

Enjoy your last few weeks of summer!

Gramps Bday Card

I got this Grampa digi image in my Bday package of goodies from Mel that came from the Little Paper Shop. I thought I'd use him for my Dad's Bday card. This guys came out looking like Dr. Phil to me! I just threw this together quickly with whatever came to mind which is so not like my usual. I usually struggle forever and copy a layout and colours from a sc or cc. Inside it says - At your age isn't happy hour nap time? He likes his naps. Off for a few weeks of vaca! Looking forward to it and then want to use my other Anya for a card for my Mom and all the shopping we did in the States this past weekend and all the goodies she brought us all.

Happy last month of school holidays ladies!

My First Anya

Marvelous Mel gave me a few stamped images in my little Bday package from her. It's so hot here in Vancouver and I was tired of sitting on the couch in the basement, so I made myself go into my dungeon to create. I saw Anya sitting there and thought let's get out the new copic markers. I have been wanting to do a pink/orange colour combo lately. Found this piece of pp in my stash and thought perfect colours and sentiments for a shopping sassy girl. I still need more practice on the copic colouring and these Anya's are perfect for it. You can purchase Anya's at Paper Garden Projects.

The inside of the card says: too many fabulous handbags, too many stylish shoes, or too many incredible girlfriends!

Ain't that the truth!

Thanks for taking a look at my blog. I'd love to hear what you think and take a visit to your blog!

Coolcat for Kat Bday!

I haven't been crafting much these days with having the kids home from school and not feeling the crafting creativity either. I needed a Bday card for my friend Kat and soon as I saw this chill looking cat back in June, I knew it was perfect for her card. She just loves cats. I grabbed some summery looking pp from Michaels and pulled the colours from it for the rest of the card and used SCS sc237 for the layout.

I just received a bunch of new copics from Kat for my Bday. Yippeee! Too fun! I just now need to practice with them. The sentiments is a Stampendous stamp that I thought was perfect for this cat. To get this free great digi: CoolcatbyHambo. I haven't used many digital images yet, but I find if you set the ink with your heatgun, you will have very minimal if any running with your copics and the printer ink.

I hope you are all enjoying your summer!

Thought this guys was perfect for Fathers Day and male Bday cards. I was actually happy with how these turned out.

BG Birdie Stamp Set

I'm not sure the name of this little Basic Grey birdie set as I don't see a name on this one or my fishie one. They are great value little stamp sets. I stamped in SU blk craft and then embossed. I used a couple different sketch challenges. SC223 and WSC80. I used BG Wisteria 6x6 paper pad and pulled the colours from the pp's. I stamped the one image on pp and used copics to colour the birdies in. Added some ribbon and a couple eyelets and a brad to the one card. Kept these really simple. I have such a hard time with simple, mine seem to come out blah instead of ahhh! I love this paper pad. Great fun!
Happy stamping gals!
Kim

Basic Grey Gone Fishing

I used up my xmas gift certificate at a LSS a few weeks ago and bought my first BG 6x6 paper pad - Wisteria. I also bought two little BG stamp sets. This fishie one and a birdie one. Great value priced. I tried to match up some Bazzill papers and SU papers to the Wisteria pp. Not the easiest. I used sc226 from SCS for the layout. This card and 3 more were made a couple weeks ago (and are sold) but, I just can't seem to get my butt into the dungeon lately to make cards. Sigh. I do need to get one made for next Fri. for my 9th Wedding Anniversary. Yikes! Maybe, after this spa weekend, I'll be refreshed and come back with some creativeness in my brain, instead of laziness in my bones.

Could also be all this beautiful weather to enjoy!

Thanks for peaking in!

SC227 and Caardvark Verse Challenge - Tracy's 40th Bday Card

Talk about last minute getting this card done. We're going out tomorrow night for my friends 40th Bday dinner and I'm just getting it finished today. Not usually my way. I like to have stuff done way ahead of time or on hand and I haven't had that for awhile now. I'm so glad that SCS and Caardvarks has challenges. It gives me something to work off of. That and pulling colours from pp. I used the Still Hot Granny set from LPS. I see there is a Grampa one now in a digital image.

Recipe:

Stamps - LPS Still Hot Granny
Papers - Baja breeze, Choc. chip, Basic Grey Offbeat & Deja Views Fresh Print - perfect matches to Baja breeze
Inks - SU blk craft ink, Creamy caramel
Accessories - Clear ep, punches, white gel pen, SU scallop punch, brown brads, blender pen, copics.

The Still Hot Granny comes with some fun sayings. I choose this verse for my friends 40th Bday card.
Have a great weekend and I hope everyone has great spring weather!

LPS SC Little Monkey Bday

Little Paper Shop is having a sketch challenge over on their blog this week, so I threw together a quick card with my new little monkey Happy Bday stamp. I didn't have time or the creative vision to make it anything grand, but it'll be a good one to give to a guy. You might want to check out their LPS sc and their big sale. Ends soon!

Happy Stamping! I hope you have your creative flow going, because mine is buried deep for too long now. Arrghh.

Easter Cards for the Fam

I finally got the girls and hubbies Easter cards done today. We leave tomorrow after Brad is home from work for the Island for Easter Long and I wanted them ready to go. Now to finish packing with a sick one at home. I had to speed colour the images, which I really had wanted to take the time to get a better feel for the copics. I am enjoying them more and want more more more! The image was drawn, yes drawn by my damn talented friend Mel. She just blows me away. I couldn't even draw a sit figure bunny. Aaaahhhhh to have these behind me, such relief!
Hoppy Hoppy Easter to you all!
What will you be doing? I'll be overeating.. hee hee. I'm looking forward to the girls doing their Easter Egg hunt. I'm taking Mel's idea and buying a 12 x 12 scrapbook plastic tote to fill with craft goodies for the girls, so when we travel, we can bring them with us and they can then use the hard top for their colouring surface. Too smart once again Mel!!!
Cheers!

SC212 & CC212 So Sorry

I combined this weeks cc212 with an older sc212. I find it so awkward to make With Sympathy type cards. I thought these colours weren't too overly bright or overly drab to use for one. My BF's hubbies Gramma passed away this last Monday and they have come down to help his Mom out with everything. I thought I'd make a card for the both of them. I also still need to make one for my MIL for the passing of her dog. I think I'll stick to the same colours. I better get back in there and make myself do it or I'll procrastinate until it seems too late to send.

Recipe:

Stamps - Stampendous Posie Doodle, So Many Sayings
Papers - Choc. chip, Ridinghood red, pink pirouhette and SU PP (can't recall name)
Inks - Choc chip craft ink
Accessories - Pink ribbon, clear ep, copics, stickles, brads, punches, rectangle scallop nesties

Thanks for stopping by for a look!

Suzi's 34th Birthday Gift Set

Mel and I got together last week and made this little 2 5/8" x 2 5/8" box that Mel has on her blog to put the little jewellery set I bought for Suzi's Bday gift. There is a lady who makes beautiful jewellery that my Mom and I love to buy from, so I thought I'd get Suzi a set. I wanted something neutral and feel in love with the set pictured below. Now, I want one! :O)

Mel drew these flowers, printed them on vellum and embossed them. She also created the beautiful paper with print and the flowers on it. She is too damn talented! I coloured the vellum in with cool grey #7 on the back of it. Added white Souffle pen to make the little dots pop with white. I also am giving Suzi a goat soap that she loves, that I purchase from Vancouver Island and only use them. They come in great scents and don't leave that soap film on your skin! I made a little matching cover to go over the goat soap that matches the little box and card. I hope she likes the jewellery.. well maybe not.. then I can keep it. haha. I'll have to post a picture of her wearing it as these pictures didn't do it an ounce of justice! I had fun with this set. Mel pretty much made the box. :o) heehee. I am not one for tinkering with little things. I ain't no Tinkerbell like Mel.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look at what I've been up to! I appreciate it!

Golf Retirement Card

My Mom's really great boss is retiring this week and she asked me to make a card to give to him. He likes fishing and golfing, so I went with golfing. I found this great golf pp at a LSS and my oh so talented friend Mel drew the golf club for me. I printed it out, coloured with pencil crayons and a silver pen and then cut it out to go on top of the pp. The golf ball was on the pp and I hole punched it out. The inside says - Retirement means no pressure, no stress, no heartache... unless you play golf. The card is 6" x 6" and Mel was nice enough to make me an envelope to fit it. It was a really nice and easy card to put together. I actually made a guys card and I actually like it.

Thanks for taking a look!

Whipper Snapper Otto The Owl

I took the copic class last Sat. morning and this is one of the images I had coloured in. I had a hard time getting the hang of staying in a small area and working my way out and keeping the edges wet. Am I slow or what??
I would never have used or bought this image, but I now think it's a great image for guy cards. I have no guy images. This is Otto the Owl from Whipper Snapper.
It was nice having a big range of colours to pick from. We used the Copic Originals, which I don't own any of. I liked the bullet end of them. So many Copic choices. I have some Ciao and Sketch ones. They are so much $$$ to invest in, but slowly I'll get a few more.
I also bought some rub on Happy Birthday's and Thinking of You's. I need to get the hang of how to keep it in place for it not to move and rub it off at the same time. Again.. ya I guess I'm not too talented to be having a problem with that. I added a little Bday hat in the matching pp. Now, I have a guys card on hand.
TFL!

Paper Garden Bday Blog Bash Week 1 Challenge

When I read on Mel's blog about Cathy's Bday bash giveaway's and saw the challenge for week 1 was to make a funny card, the Little Paper Shop Granny set came to mind right away. I hope it's ok to use a set not sold at The Paper Garden. I combined this challenge with SCS SC218.

Recipe:

Stamp set - LPS Still Hot Granny, SU Stitched BG
Papers - Baja Breeze, WW, Chocolate Chip, PP - Basic Grey Offbeat - unexpected
Ink - Brilliance Graphite Black
Accessories - Copic BG72 (matches baja breeze perfectly), blender pen, SU markers, nesties label 2

I shadowed the main nestie with baja breeze by cutting it in half and putting behind the white panel. I saw this on Cambria Turnbow's blog and loved the look and now I'll over use that. :O)

I'm taking a copic class this Sat. morning and hope to finally learn how to colour and maybe purchase more Copics if I get the hang of colouring with them.

Fun challenge Cathy!

Princess Money Holder

My girls received money holders from Gramma Karen for their Bdays. I just loved them and wanted to try and copy them. Here is my Princess version. The one I copied, is at the bottom of this post! I love the colours on it!

Measurements/ Scoring - 8" x 9" piece of paper Score from top 3 1/2" Score from bottom 2" Fold bottom piece to inside of the card and adhere sides to be the money pocket.

Patterned Paper Measurements - top piece - 2", middle piece 3/8", bottom piece 1 1/4". The bottom and middle pieces I made bigger then those measurments, as it was easier to work with and then just covered it up with the next layer. Does that make any sense? Work from bottom to top. Pattern Papers are Imaginisce - Fairest of Them All.

I couldn't get a nice picture of the inside of the card. I used the SU word window punch to make the opening in the middle of the card. I only punched out about half of the window size in height. The blue piece says princess, embossed from a cuttlebug folder.

Here is the original money holder made at Oasis Scrapbooking in Cranbrook. I need to get me some rub ons. I really like the Happy Birthday look of this rub on. I can't wait to try more of them, maybe with some rub ons!!! They are really quick to make. Another excuse to shop! :o)
Thanks for stopping by! If you have any questions, please do ask and I'll try to explain better!

Bella Birthday Balloons

A lady at my Mom's work is wanting me to make her cards and I have felt so burned out from Xmas cards, but I finally stepped into the dungeon today. It felt good to do some colouring. I really want to take the plunge into copic markers this year. What colours to start with, is my scare and to use them properly.
I got this cute Bella image from a Bella exchange with Beth (scrappin beth) on SCS. Great way to get a variety of Bella's without having to purchase them all. Hey, Beth.. time to do another one? :o)
My dear and talented friend Mel (Mel stampz) made these foam flowers, paper flowers, brads, a little box to hold the foam flowers and the packaging that the little flower container was in. I need to take a picture of them to show her great talent.
I matched up the colours in the flowers with SU colours, added a paisley cuttlebug folder and a sentiment.
My question: What would you pay for this card w/ envelope? I am having a hard time pricing.
Now to get to making my girls 6 Bday party invites. I really want to keep them simple, but still look decent. Hmm...
Happy New Year to all of you and wishing you a fabulously creative year!
Kim
