Merry Snowmen

I got these stamped images from A Merry Season sent to me by Epiphany from scs and her beautiful card that I had commented on. How amazing of her to have sent me so many images and the card. How kind! I'm loving colouring these guys. I pulled the colours from the dashing pp to colour in the snowmen. I also made a card in the wintergreen colours with these guys. I added in a little landscaping with my su blk marker to make it look like snowy ground. Added lots of snow falling, snowflakes lightyly stamped in soft sky from the snowflake spot set, and stickles for some glitter. This card was fun to make. I'm itching to make more of them. Thanks for stopping by.

Two Christmas Trees

Okay, it's been way too long since I posted any cards on here. Melissa has been on me to get some added. Here I finally am, doing so. I've been making lots of different xmas cards lately. I really just need to decide on one and make 10 of them and then 10 of another one to get my 50 cards done on time. I just find the repetitiveness of doing so many of the same a bore. Here's one of my latest creations. I'm loving my new Season of Joy set, Wintergreen and Dashing patterned papers. I tried two trees at different heights on this card. I'm thinking it looks like I did it by accident though, but really I meant to. I realized when I posted this to scs. I forgot the glitter on the blue tree. I like the look of the white embossed swirls on the certain celery. Added some wintergreen pp, gem brads, paper piercing and a greeting. I'm really trying to keep all my cards simple right now to save on time. I have only about 22 more to make. Yikes. TFL.

Happy Holidays

A simple holiday card. Needed to do something different other then just snowflakes. I used Basic Grey patterned papers. The cranberry crisp and mellow moss go so nicely with this pp. Added some ribbon, punched circles, scallop circle and mounted it all. Used the back of the pp for the middle of the happy holidays.. has a sponged look to it. I'm happy with how this turned out as it's not super detailed, but still is okay without all the extra's or atleast I think that. :o)

Happy Birthday

Another card to sell. Vintage violet, whisper white and another patterned paper. I saw a layout like this on scs and liked it. Though I can't recall who's it was to give credit. I used the cake stamp from Blooming with Happiness. VV ribbon and white organza ribbon. A metal Happy Birthday embellishment that doesn't show well in the pic, but I sponged over it with VV ink. Added a couple word windows folded over and put a eyelet through them.

Eat Cake

Made a few cards last week to sell. I've kept them fairly simple, but hopefully still somewhat detailed with patterned papers, ribbon etc... I used soft sky, choc. chip and a patterned paper that is in brown and blue. The name is escaping me at the moment. I used the In The Spotlight Set for the man image and the wording is from Eat Cake. TFL!

Cards From Stampin Up Party

I had a party on Thurs. night and my great and talented friend Melissa was the creator of these fabulous cards. All S.U. products. The card is really detailed and layered, I just love that. I made my first tent topper card. It's a little gift tag card. We used the baroque motif set on the tent topper card. The Snowflake Spot on the full size card. Check out her blog with all the great items she's been making lately. http://melstampz.blogspot.com/ Colours used are Blue bayou, Soft sky, River rock and patterned paper.

Tote and Card Set

This was my first time making this style tote. I love it compared to the other one I had made. It is quick and simple!! These will make great gift sets to give to people for gifts. I used purely pomegranate, river rock and soft sky. Used Baroque Motif stamp set of course!! I did a couple simple card designs, added some gems and ribbon. I wanted to keep them simple, but still a little detailed. I've made 3 more of these since this set last night. I'm hooked on these totes.

Cards for My Friends Avon Customers

I was hired by my friend Kels to make little cards for her Avon customers to give to them during the holiday season. What a great idea to give to her customers and what a great idea to hire me for the job... hee hee... money for some new stuff. I kept them really simple as I had 30 to make and wanted to keep it cost efficient as well. I used The Snowflake Spot set and the reindeer from Sleigh full of toys. Mellow moss, vanilla and cranberry crisp for the one style and Blue bayou, soft sky and some white on one version. Took me a couple hours, but they are done done done. Now to get my xmas cards and sets made.

Colour Challenge 137

I actually made a card on the day of a colour challenge, it's a first and hopefully not a last. It's a card that's vision didn't quite make it. It's a weird one for me, but was fun. The colours are basic grey, purely pomegranate and soft sky... I love these colours seperately, together you name it. I need to get more scallop punches. The store is always out when it's sale time. How convenient, I say! I used the In the Spotlight Stampin Up hostess set that I earned from my July party. Whatever will I earn in two weeks at my next party.... hmm. I can't wait to see the next mini due out for December. Thanks for looking!

Holiday Gifts

I borrowed the Sleight Full of Toys from Melissa. I thought I'd try something other then snowflakes. I used my basic grey fruitcake - tidings/wintermint paper to pull the colours from and added some garden green too. I actually made a xmas card with holiday colours. The colouring of the sleigh was actually a bit fun.... bringing out the kid in me. I'm going to make my daugthers one all pink sleigh full of toys card and my other girl an all purple one... their favourite colours of course. I used river rock, very vanilla, cranberry crisp and garden green as well as the pp for this card. The picture turned out a little yellow looking. Maybe, one day I'll take a nice picture! Oh, I also used baroque motif for the background on the river rock and cranberry crisp.

Cosmobella Christmas Martini Party

I loved this weeks colour challenge on scs. I never have the time the day of to make anything, but was able to last night. I had just recently bought the basic grey pine branch/avalanche pp and thought this went well with the colours. I'm hosting our girls xmas party this year and have made it a martini night. Everyone bring something, so we can try different kinds of martini's. I'm thinking I'll give this card away to all the girls on that night when we do our xmas card exchange. It's not really christmas like, but I'm never traditional. I used choc. chip, blue bayou, river rock and basic grey pp. Some ribbon and a pearl brad for add ons. I kept it simple as I'll have to make 8. The only thing that I don't like is my writing as usual. I ruin things with it.

My First Tote On My Own

I made one other tote before with my talented and crafty friend Melissa. http://melstampz.blogspot.com/ I had a heck of a time with it. Talk about a learning curve. Now I think I know what to do and not to do. I have wanted to do this colour scheme since before I ordered my purely pomegranate ink. I must have seen it somewhere!! The name of who's tuturial this came from escapes me at the moment. She did a fabulous job on hers. Maybe, another 10 more tries, I'll know what I'm doing. I've made one card to go it and will make a couple more in these colours. I'm going to be selling the totes with cards in them to my Aunt. She gives them as xmas gifts to ladies at her work. I used purely pom, going grey, blk and whisper white. Added some ribbons, brads, white gel pen and blk SU marker. Oh and clear ep'd the grey/blk baroque in the middle. I forgot, Ialso used pretty in pink with the sanded background over the white.

Simple Snowflakes

I need to make about 50 xmas cards again this year for my mom and I to give out to friends and family. I will save the bigger emboss resists cards for ones to sell and closer friends and family. I think this one will be one of my variations of cards to make a million of. Nothing fancy, but simple and quick. I thought I'd try the going grey with it for something other then just blue blue blue and brown brown brown. I embossed the white snowflakes and silver embossed the be merry and big snowflake. I added a few eyelets, some silver cord and white organza. I used soft sky cardstock as well as ink for the medium size snowflakes.

Caribbean Snowflakes

Here's my last variation of the embossed snowflakes. I versamarked the snowflakes onto the cool caribbean cardstock and used clear ep. Used tempt. turq. reinker and sponge to go over the snowflakes. Added some ribbons, punches, sentiment and gem brad. I have to make more of these. I really enjoyed this tech! TFL!

Blue Gift Tags

I had to try out my new Tags for All set last night. This picture doesn't show them well at all. My fav. is the snowman one as I just love love love snowmen. I used stickles on the snowmen for some sparkle... added some snowflakes with irridescent ice on them and coloured in the snowmens hat and scarfs with blue bayou and soft sky. I stamped the image in choc. chip instead of black. It goes nicely with the blues. Two of the other tags, I stamped onto soft sky patterned paper for a different look added silver cord and on one I did paper piercing and then went over them with a silver pen. The Merry tag I added silver brads and silver pen throughout! You can't even tell in the picture. :o(

Blue Snowflakes

This time I embossed over the snowflakes in Blue bayou. I need to get a reinker as it took looks to get it from the pad. I added some white organdy, silver cord, gem brad and punched out some ovals and added on my sentiment. I like it both in the browns and both the blues. Fun fun!!!

Soft Sky Snowflakes

I got an itch to make xmas cards last night. I spent hours down in my dungeon playing. I saw on splitcoast a lady who did emboss resist with the choc. chip over the versamarked snowflakes on soft sky paper. I had to try it for myself. I had a great time doing this technique. The paper looks velvety in real. I used a gem brad in the middle of the biggest snowflake, some ribbons, punched out a greeting and done. I have a few variations I made last night I will add on to my blog shortly. I love the new blues and anything with brown.. not traditional, but neither am I. The set is The Snowflake Spot from S.U. Now for Stampin Up to get on board with our nearly on par Cdn dollar. The price different is too huge!

Flying Kitty Witch

My first ever attempt at a Halloween card. I love this little S.U. Haunted Halloween set, but I just couldn't seem to pull it together in a card. I think I will outline the lettering and colour in the spider as they have it on pg. 29 of the S.U. catty. I made the star background with the stamp from Haunted Halloween and just alternated between the lovely lilac and blk inks. Added some grosgrain ribbon, did some paper piercing and filled it in with the white gel pen... still what else would have made it more complete? I think it's all the white area around the cat. Hmm.. maybe I should have sponged the edges. TFL!

Aksel's Bday Card

I have the hardest time making a guys card. My hubbies Grampa turns 81 at the end of the month and I always send him a card. He's so lucky to have all of his grandparents still. I used sketch challenge 140 from scs. It's very plain, but Brad said his Grampa likes simple and clean. The new blues of course are perfect for a guys card. I don't have any mascular stamps.. I hope this isn't too feminine?!!? I love the new S.U. linen papers and patterned papers.. finally they are getting with the times. I also love the new sanded bg stamp. I hope Gramps likes it. :o)

Baby Girl Card

I don't have any up to date modern baby sets. Mine are from about 6 yrs ago and to tell the truth.. yuck. So, I love this lion and thought I'd use him. My old S.U. demonstrator had a girl this week, so I made a girl one and a I also made one with soft sky in place of the amethyst for a friend who just had a boy a couple weeks ago. I used amethyst and close to cocoa patterned papers, vintage violet ribbon, lots of punches, sanded bg stamp, dazzling diamonds, amethyst brad and did some paper piercing. I like these colours together. I usually use pink and brown for girls cards, but tried something different for once. :o)

Amy and John's Wedding Card

My stepdad's neice just got married in Hawaii on Wed. They are having a reception here at the end of the month, so I made a card for him to give to her and her husband. It's pretty similar to the other Wdg card I made and have posted on here. I just stamped on linen soft sky this time. Again, lots of dazzling diamonds, Blue bayou patterned paper behind the soft sky linen. I just love this set for Wedding cards. I think it's my favourite set of all time. Her Wdg colours were blue.. how perfect because I love these blues together. I guess I need to break away from them for awhile, eh!!!

Because of U

I really like this set, but it is no longer available... so I borrow it from great Stampin Up demonstrator and friend Melissa. She's an amazing artist. If you'd like, take a peak at her artwork. http://melstampz.blogspot.com/ I cased this card from a lady who had posted on Splitcoast. I changed the layout of the colours a little bit. I used choc. chip, rose red and regal rose for the colours. I love the little ticket corner punch. It just gives it a little something more. It was a great card to come across for copying. The original lady who the credit goes to is debils on www.splitcoaststampers.com. If you've never been to this site, you've got to go and check out. Great inspiration on there and information!

Quick and Simple

I borrowed a few of my friends sets and made a quick card to have on hand. I am trying to stop using brown, but I'm having a hard time. Sets were You Make Me Happy, Double Lined Doodlge and Polka Dots and Paisley. Colours are cool caribbean, regal rose and you guessed it choc. chip. I think I need help! Oh, and of course dazzling diamonds!

In The Spotlight

Ouch, that hurt... I typed this whole thing about this card and then there was some kind of error. Let's try again! First time using my In The Spotlight set. One of S.U.'s current hostess sets. I made a sheet of patterned paper and then decided I didn't want to cover it all up with other layers of paper, so I added a few things to it and called it done. Finally, S.U. got a scallop punch... love it. I like the flower one too and punched out both shaped added dimensionals to add some depth. I used dazzling diamonds for some sparkle. I seem to be doing that on every card these days. I just haven't been making many lately. I need to get back into my dungeon as it's therapy for me...that or eating and it keeps me from snacking. I used certainly celery, bashful blue and choc. chip for the colours.

Baroque Motif Thank You

This card is similar to the all blue Wdg card I had made. I actually made this one first for my stepdad's boss as a Thank you for letting us all go to his lakeside resort this summer. What a fabulous place it was. I used the new S.U. blues, mellow moss and not quite navy. Again, I stamped the image in the two different blues to give it the shadow/layered look. I cut out a couple of the baroque flowers added versamark and dipped them in dazzling diamonds. I also used my versamark pen and went over areas and added D.D. to give area's some sparkle. I used some hardware from S.U.'s hodgepodge set to hold the ribbon and oval kind together. This card is a about 7" x 5".

Doodle This Blk and White

I was on a black and white kick for awhile. I love using the doodle this main flower and doing it in layers. I used the stem stamp for the background on the white cardstock. I stamped the stem in white and embossed on the blk paper. Added a few brads, hodgepodge hardware and blk stickles on the flower petals. I also bg stamped the little window punch pieces that are on the left side of the card.

Wedding Card

My Mom hired me to make a Wedding card for a co-worker's July Wedding. I used S.U.'s new In colours - Blue Bayou and Soft Sky. I love these blues! I really enjoy using the Baroque Motif set. It is fantastic for making fancy cards. The guy who was given this card said the nicest thing: "This card is a keepsake." Wow, that was said from a man's mouth! I'll take that as a huge compliment! I used the new S.U. gem brad as well as a clear one I already had. I stamped the swirlies in both the colours, to give it a layered/shadowed appearance. I used a versamark pen and then dipped it into dazzling diamonds for dimension and sparkle. I also, used S.U.'s double stitched ribbon and lots of their punches. They work really well!

My First Tote!

My girlfriend and I got together last week and she helped me make my first tote! It was a bit of a gong show, but it finally came together. I used the bag to pull the colours from to make the tote and card. The flower from S.U. 's Ginormous Flowers was a perfect match to the one on the bag. Here is Leslie Miller's tutorial for the tote that I made. Colours are Purely Pomegranate and Black by S.U. You can't see it in the picture, but the black part of the tote is covered in black seed beads (click on picture to get a better view). Time consuming, but it looks like a beaded purse. I used crystal effects to adhere the beads to the tote. This set went to my Mom for her 51st Bday!

P.M.S. Bella

Another Bella! I picked the 3 Bella stamps that I thought suited a girl best. Pigging out on the couch during that oh so special time of the month, enjoying a drink with friends and relaxing in a hot bath with no kids and a good book! I stamped the PMS Bella onto the patterned paper and then stamped it onto white paper and then cut her out and placed onto patterned sofa. Then stamped again onto the main piece of white paper. I don't know if that makes any sense. Lots of cutting. I attempted to colour in the junk foods in my favourite brands... Purdy's milk choc. caramels.... oh man now I want one!
Publish Post

Cheers Girlfriend!

I thought I would put my few Bella cards together. Again, dyed the prima flower, added a big pink gem brad and ribbon behind. I'm really into the browns right now... pink is a great accent to brown. I used my new S.U. sanded bg stamp in choc. chip over the pink paper. I love backgrounds! If only my glass was full right now with a Cosmo! Cheers!

Scrub a Dub Dub... I love the tub!

These Bella stamps are so fun! I love to have a bath every night and relax after a busy day with my girls. For this card, I dyed a prima flower with S.U. reinker and used a amethyst brad for the center. I used dollar store beads over top of the colouring of the water and stickles for the tub. Scrub a dub dub! All paper is S.U. I love the quality of their paper and that all the colours match. I'm a bit anal that way!

Thanks for taking a peek at me in the tub! ;o) Kim
