Suzi's 34th Birthday Gift Set
Mel and I got together last week and made this little 2 5/8" x 2 5/8" box that Mel has on her blog to put the little jewellery set I bought for Suzi's Bday gift. There is a lady who makes beautiful jewellery that my Mom and I love to buy from, so I thought I'd get Suzi a set. I wanted something neutral and feel in love with the set pictured below. Now, I want one! :O)
Mel drew these flowers, printed them on vellum and embossed them. She also created the beautiful paper with print and the flowers on it. She is too damn talented! I coloured the vellum in with cool grey #7 on the back of it. Added white Souffle pen to make the little dots pop with white. I also am giving Suzi a goat soap that she loves, that I purchase from Vancouver Island and only use them. They come in great scents and don't leave that soap film on your skin! I made a little matching cover to go over the goat soap that matches the little box and card. I hope she likes the jewellery.. well maybe not.. then I can keep it. haha. I'll have to post a picture of her wearing it as these pictures didn't do it an ounce of justice! I had fun with this set. Mel pretty much made the box. :o) heehee. I am not one for tinkering with little things. I ain't no Tinkerbell like Mel.
Thanks for stopping by to have a look at what I've been up to! I appreciate it!

Golf Retirement Card
My Mom's really great boss is retiring this week and she asked me to make a card to give to him. He likes fishing and golfing, so I went with golfing. I found this great golf pp at a LSS and my oh so talented friend Mel drew the golf club for me. I printed it out, coloured with pencil crayons and a silver pen and then cut it out to go on top of the pp. The golf ball was on the pp and I hole punched it out. The inside says - Retirement means no pressure, no stress, no heartache... unless you play golf. The card is 6" x 6" and Mel was nice enough to make me an envelope to fit it. It was a really nice and easy card to put together. I actually made a guys card and I actually like it.
Thanks for taking a look!

Whipper Snapper Otto The Owl
I took the copic class last Sat. morning and this is one of the images I had coloured in. I had a hard time getting the hang of staying in a small area and working my way out and keeping the edges wet. Am I slow or what??
I would never have used or bought this image, but I now think it's a great image for guy cards. I have no guy images. This is Otto the Owl from Whipper Snapper.
It was nice having a big range of colours to pick from. We used the Copic Originals, which I don't own any of. I liked the bullet end of them. So many Copic choices. I have some Ciao and Sketch ones. They are so much $$$ to invest in, but slowly I'll get a few more.
I also bought some rub on Happy Birthday's and Thinking of You's. I need to get the hang of how to keep it in place for it not to move and rub it off at the same time. Again.. ya I guess I'm not too talented to be having a problem with that. I added a little Bday hat in the matching pp. Now, I have a guys card on hand.
TFL!

Paper Garden Bday Blog Bash Week 1 Challenge
When I read on Mel's blog about Cathy's Bday bash giveaway's and saw the challenge for week 1 was to make a funny card, the Little Paper Shop Granny set came to mind right away. I hope it's ok to use a set not sold at The Paper Garden. I combined this challenge with SCS SC218.
Recipe:
Stamp set - LPS Still Hot Granny, SU Stitched BG
Papers - Baja Breeze, WW, Chocolate Chip, PP - Basic Grey Offbeat - unexpected
Ink - Brilliance Graphite Black
Accessories - Copic BG72 (matches baja breeze perfectly), blender pen, SU markers, nesties label 2
I shadowed the main nestie with baja breeze by cutting it in half and putting behind the white panel. I saw this on Cambria Turnbow's blog and loved the look and now I'll over use that. :O)
I'm taking a copic class this Sat. morning and hope to finally learn how to colour and maybe purchase more Copics if I get the hang of colouring with them.
Fun challenge Cathy!
